CAPITALISM CARTOON

The main visual elements in the cartoon is that a wealthy looking, big man is holding a small man over three sacks of gold. One of the sacks of gold is labeled profits from child labor. This political cartoon is about the evils of capitalism and how they make some people very rich and some people very poor. The cartoonist obviously by the way he has made the cartoon thinks that capitalism is evil and should be stopped. The evidence would I think first be the labeling of the bags child labour profits. Then the size of the men showing how the rich one had all the power. And finally the words at the bottom of the cartoon. I think that to show it even more he should have the bigger man physically hurting the smaller man.

1870's stock market reflection

The tip I think most affected me in the stock market activity was buy low sell high. I chose this tip because I made all my money from buying low and then selling high. First of all I bought a railroads share for 5$ and managed to sell it for 20$ which is 4 times what I bought it for. The other stock I bought was silver. I bought it for 3$ a share and sold it for 10$ a share which is 3 and a bit times the amount I bought it for. As you can see from what I bought and sold the tip buy low and sell high really helped me in particular.

Roller Coaster

You get in the line thinking about how cool the ride will be. You watch everyone go on the ride and you think about how your soon going to be going on soon. Your getting closer to the ride. The line is getting shorter and shorter and now some doubts are creeping into the back of your head. You start thinking about if the ride is safe enough. What if you fall off and die. It all starts being too much. You finally decide that you are going to step out of the line and go some where else. Then suddenly its your go you are being shoved into the seat. They fasten the rope around you that they call a seatbelt and your off. Up down side to side you have no idea. Your nearly throwing up and just when you think you are going to the ride stops. You get out completely dazed and our friend standing next to you. As soon as you are back to normal you turn to him and shout that was so cool.

review goals

My first goal was to make my handwriting neater. I think my handwriting is getting a tiny bit better. I think this because before my sister could not read my handwriting before and now she can read it. This shows that I am progressing in my first goal. My second goal was to study more to get better grades. I think I have been studying more and most of my TESTS reflect this. Although my grade is not showing it I think I am progressing in my second goal.

my goals

What were your two highlights for your first week of school?
One of my highlights was that I got to see my friends again from after Summer break. Another highlight was that I liked all my teachers and they were all nice.
What was your first impression of humanities?
My first impression was that it was going to be a hard but fair class. We got the slip of paper that told us everything and I was sort of annoyed that you could not hand in everything late since I am always losing and forgetting stuff.
What are two goals you have for humanities this quarter?
One of my goals is that I want my handwriting to be neater. My handwriting is always hard to read and I want it to be better. And another goal I have is to study more. I always feel like i do not study enough but now I want to be able to get really good grades so I think I should study more.
