Net Effect of imperialism in Africa

The positives

• Imperialism and colonialism helped Africa by bringing them hospitals, cars, schools, and many other things from the more developed part of the world.
• The natural resources were shared with the European countries and helped them during the industrial revolution.
• Many railroads and seaports were built inside Africa.
• Europe used the resources from Africa to progress through the industrial revolution so it could become a developed continent.

The negatives

• Countries in Africa went to war.
• Many innocent Africans were killed because they stood in the way of the Europeans.
  
• Tribes were destroyed and many parts of African culture were destroyed forever.
• Some of the natural resources that were used in the industrial revolution has polluted the world.
• Slavery was a major problem for Africans in Europe and many of them led horrible lives.
